This appliance can give a fabulous appearance with very little time investment. And while it’s easy to enhance one’s do with the use of a curling iron, not all curling irons are made the same. Regardless of which model you choose, don’t forget to spritz your hair with some hairspray, or else they may lose their curl when your night has not even ended yet!

One more useful technique in applying a curling iron is dealing with the hair’s ends. Placing them under or flipping these ends a bit wildly will work wonders. A curling iron is an all-around device enough to curl specifically the strands that needed curling in whichever way a person wishes to have. Even if the need is to just curl more small parts of the hair, a curling iron can be successful in curling your whole hair as well. It might be a tedious job for some as a curling iron may consume about five minutes or less to forty-five minutes onwards, depending on the hair type and the intricacy of the style one wishes to achieve.

Our top 4 choice curling irons are:

1. Farouk CHI 1-inch Ceramic Ionic Spring Curling Iron

2. Conair 2-in-1 Straightener and Curling Iron
Its technology glides across the hair’s surface easily, distributing heat evenly for silky, smooth, and conventional styling results. All components are imported with a size of 3.8 x 0.5 x 15.0. Among its features are:
- It has a uniformed heat recovery feature maintains optimum temperature for consistent styling
- With 25 variable heat settings
- Automatically turns off
- Maintains a cool tip
- With a 6′ line cord

3. Vidal Sassoon Gold-Plated Professional High-Heat Curling Iron 2
Has a high heat – no heat loss capacity that stays at set temperature curl after curl. For fine, thin hair – heat level is 1-6, wavy to medium hair – 7-12, thick hair – 13-18, and for coarse, hard-to-curl hair – 19-25.
Characterizes with:
- 2 barrel that creates large, loose curls
- 25 heat settings to customize the heat to any hair type
- With 60 second fast heat-up
- High-heat – but definitely no heat loss; which stays at set temperature curl after curl
- Glamorous with 24K Gold-plated barrel that heats better and last longer
- Auto-Off
- On indicator light
- It has a cool tip
- Comes with a safety stand
- Tangle-proof swivel cord
- Worldwide Dual Voltage for convenient use when traveling
- New Soft-Grip Handle
- With one-year limited warranty

4. 1 1/2 Jumbo Curling Iron for Hair
Among its features are :
-2 heat settings
-60 second heat up
-comes also with a 24k gold plated barrel
-power indicator light
-conveniently has a safety tip and safety stand with tangle free swivel cord.

Remember:
-Look for a curling iron with not only one but multiple settings. This will allow selecting the enough amount of heat level for the hair.
-That using curling irons for too long or too often can dry out and sometimes burn the hair. Pay special attention to the number of usage each week and potential split ends. Trimming the hair on a regular basis can be a precaution of avoiding the damage to go up to the hair shaft.
-Curling irons come in different sizes. The narrower the barrel, the tighter and lasting the curl.

1907- A hundred years of Meeting the Producer

The Pike Place Market is fast approaching its 100th year in service to the citizens of Seattle. The 9 acre market has grown from a small group of farmers meeting at the corner of 1st and Pike Street to being one of the most colorful and rich public markets known internationally.

Also known as The Soul of Seattle, the Pike Place Market is rich with the sights and sounds of Seattle. Now looking forward to it 100th year, the market boasts 240 year round commercial businesses and restaurants, 190 craftspeople and 120 farmers renting table space by the day, 240 street performers and musicians, and 500 residents.

Plan your day in the Market with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the multiple floors and blocks that make up the Pike Place Market Historic District. After finding the perfect unique gift for someone, have lunch with a view of Elliott Bay, and Seattle Waterfront or people watch all of the travelers and Seattle Residents in a street side cafe. Tap into your inner explorer and walk down wood floors, warn and warped his history, into the lower levels of the Down Under and then to Western Avenue for more hidden treasure shops, antique stores and restaurants. No trip to Seattle can skip the nightlife in the Pike Place Market.

The market is the most famous for the fish markets which are at the center of the tourist attraction. This is where the fish sellers throw the fish through the air to one another. The fresh fish is caught everyday and brought to the market to be sold. They can ship the fish overnight to anywhere in the country.

If you are interested in buying flowers, there are several florists on hand to sell you whatever is in bloom. Fruit is also plentiful on sale.

If you take any of the tours of Seattle, they will bring you to Pike Place Market. It is one of the main stops. But with its close proximity to downtown you can easily drive here on your own. In fact, if you want to spend any time here you should come on your own.

It did not take us long to go through the market. Unless you are actually looking to buy something, there will not be much for you to do. But it is definitely worth the trip. The flying fish is very cool. Not only do the fish sellers throw fish around but they also sing and tell jokes to the crowd to get them to buy some fish. But most of the people there are tourists watching the show. You do not have to wait long. They display the fish upfront for examination. When someone chooses a fish to purchase, it gets taken out and thrown to another fellow in the back to filet and wrap.

When you go to Seattle, make sure to make a stop at Pike Place Market. It is a one of a kind place that will stay in your memories for a long long time.

The technology revolution allows people today to have more resources at disposal and to plan their trip to Rome and to Italy optimizing the time in order to see more. To make an example, when you are just landed at Ciampino Rome airport, during your transfer to the hotel you can see the archaeological area of the Appian way and the acqueduct built by the emperor Claudius in 54 AD.

Opened in 312 b. C. by the censor Appius Claudius, during the Sannite wars, in order to join Rome with the southern provinces of the peninsula, with Africa and the East. It became in short time the elected road, sacred to the cult of the dead, crossed during the Latin holidays by the crowd going to the temple of Jupiter on the summit of mount Cavo or to the temple of Diana, by the shores of the Nemi lake.

The Appian way ran here straight -after this the name of ” recto ” – at first followed the line of an existing road to the Alban hills and reached the Agro Pontino. After the Appio Forum it touched the city of Terracina and it continued for Fondi until Capua. Some year later it was extended via Benevento and Venosa, native land of Orazio, and a century later to Taranto and Brindisi.

In the first years of II the century A.D. the emperor Trajan added his name to the road.
The beginning of the road, outside the Porta San Sebastiano, a gate in the city walls, is lined with interesting dilapidated buildings, including the church of Domine Quo Vadis, where St. Peter is supposed to have had a vision of Christ. Jesus’s footprints were preserved for posterity in a slab of white marble (in the centre of the church floor). There are also three sets of catacombs close to this stretch of road – check opening times and days first as their long lunchtime closures can interfere with your day’s planning.

With the New Appian Traian Way it was possible to go from Rome to Brindisi in 13/14 days with a total distance of 540 kilometres. The road was approximately 4.15 meters wide, enough to permit the transit of two chariots at the same time. Two sidewalks in earth delimited by stone flanked the track. Every 10/13 km in the most busy sections were aligned along the road the so-called “stations” for the change of the horses and ” taberne “, which offered refreshments and lodging for travellers.

The construction was extremely difficult , was realized solving natural difficulties with an amazingly modern plan of conception which made of it a solid, rational road with easy access. Bridges across the rivers were built, valleys filled, heights flattened, channels dug, banks raised in order to contain waters of the rivers, it was covered with blocks of hard basalt that still today emerge from the road. After the fall of the empire and barbarian invasions the road fell into decay and was abandoned. The monuments were sacked and lost their works of art anddecorations; Grass grew wildly upon the road which slowly disappeared from sight. Columns, marbles, statues, friezes, relieves started to embellish the new buildings of the City, the new Christian basilicas and noble castles. Towards the half of the ‘ 700 historians started to dig discovering important works and collecting fragments.

The first Christian cemeteries rose along the Appian Way at the end of the I century: along this road the most important necropolis were discovered, the Catacombs of S. Callisto, going back to the II sec., and those of S. Sebastian, in which were housed for a while the bodies of the two Apostles of the Roman Church: Peter and Paul. The history has confirmed that the Apostle entered in the city walking along the Appian Way.
Few people know that if you arrive at the Rome airport Ciampino during the summer, you can reach from there in few minutes the summer residence of Castelgandolfo, where the pope spends his vacation time.

Each year, a large number of individuals, couples, and families make the decision to travel to Mexico. Most have visited Mexico before. If you are planning a Mexico vacation, and you have never been there before, you may have some concerns. You may be wondering what places are safe for you to visit.

Mexico is like all other countries. There are areas that are known as tourists attractions and then there are other areas that tourists are advised to stay away from. You can easily learn about these areas online. Researching every city and town in Mexico is a long and daunting process. To save time and a costly vacation mistake, you are encouraged to examine the benefits of taking a guided Mexico tour.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of booking a guided tour in Mexico is that you will be with a local who is familiar with the area. Guided tours are held in areas that are considered safe. In addition to showing you around certain areas of Mexico, your tour guide may be able to offer you additional travel tips and suggestions. These suggestions may help you with your vacation after your guide has ended.

If you are interested in taking a guided Mexican tour, you will have to find the tour company which you wish to do business with. There are a large nubmer of guided tour companies in the area. If you do not have a preference as to which company you like to tour with, you may want to first search for a destination. The destination you select will be important in determining what you will learn and see while on a guided tour.

Many guided tours take place in Cooper Canyon, the Oaxaca Mountains, the Yucatan Peninsula and Baja. In Mexico, Baja is most known for its water activities. Many popular guided tours include whale watching and kayaking. Whether you set out to watch the whales or you select a kayaking tour, you are sure to see Gray whales. Many times, they will come right up to your boat, making for great pictures or video footage.

Cooper Canyon and the Oaxaca Mountains are guided tours that are ideal for those that love to hike. To participate in these tours, it is advised that you receive the proper health clearance. You tour will likely follow trails, but much of the terrain can be rough. The Yucatan Peninsula is ideal for travelers who wish to learn more about the ancient history of Mexico.

The above mentioned destinations in Mexico are just a few of the many. Guided tours are found all across Mexico. If there is particular topic or activity that interests you, you are sure to find a guided tour that will offer you excitement. Hikers often select a hiking tour, boats often opt for boat tours, and history lovers often select tours that focus on the history of Mexico.

In addition to selecting where you would like to go on a guided tour, you will also need to determine how long you like that tour to be. In Mexico, guided tours can last as long as one day or over one week. You should easily be able to determine how long a guided tour is by looking at the price. Weeklong guided tours can cost thousands of dollars, but most of your accommodations are taken care of. Some guided tours can be considered all-inclusive vacations.

Journey Mexico, Siesta Tours, and Ufly Mexico are three of the most well-known guided tour companies in Mexico. You can examine the tours found by these three companies by visiting their online websites or by requesting free travel brochures. If you are interested in finding additional tours, your local travel agent may be able to offer you assistance.

By selecting a guided tour of Mexico, you do not always have to be looking over your shoulder. Vacationing in a safe area with an experienced tour guide is about as carefree as your Mexico vacation can get.

1. Camp Kenya; Animal and Lion Safari Packages

Camp Kenya holiday experience is touted to be the most comprehensive in Africa. It is the only country that you will experience 3 distinct climatic conditions namely, Coastal Humid, cool highland and dry desert. The Camp Kenya safari package attractions here also range from the

(1) White sands beaches, Camp Kenya and safari package,
(2) Wildlife park camp Kenya safari package,
(3) The scenery of the Great Rift Valley Camp Kenya package,
(4) The green plantations of the highlands package,
(5) The cradle of mankind archeological sites Camp Kenya package,
(6) Rich cultural Camp Kenya and safari package,
(7) Climbing of show-capped Mount Kenya Camp Kenya package among others.

Kenya has managed to maintain its wildlife in natural areas in National Wildlife Parks and wildlife Reserves. The big five wildlife including Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Elephant and Buffalo are all found in these parks including the small wildlife.

Among the best Camp Kenya tours include the indomitable
(1) Maasai Mara camping Safari tour
(2) Nakuru camping Safari tour
(3) Aberdares camping Kenya tour
(4) Tsavo camping Safari tour (11,000 kms equal in size to Israel)
(5) Samburu camping Safari tour
(6) Amboseli Camp Kenya – Among other 57 Wildlife Parks and Reserves.

Nairobi National Wildlife Park is the only park located within a capital city in the world. Lions, Zebras, gnus, Leopards, Rhino, Buffalo are 5 minutes from the Central Business District.

2. Camp Kenya and safari: Wildebeest Migration

The single most popular wildlife spectacle in a Camp Kenya safari is the annual wildebeest migration to and from Serengeti into the Maasai Mara. The wildebeest migration is such a phenomenon it involves movement of over 2.5 million animals crossing plains and rivers. The huge migration is such that satellites in space pick it up as a fluid moving mass of black trail. The Maasai Mara lodges are usually overbooked and full in the migration months of July-Oct.

3. Lion And Oryx Camping Safari Tour

Some years back a story extra ordinaire caught the attention of international media. This was the story of an old lioness called ‘Namunyak’ in Samburu National Reserve. The lioness had formed a bizarre habit of adopting 6 young Oryx for days on end. The lioness was so protective of its adoptee(s) that she couldn’t go to hunt for fear of her being killed by the males of her pride.

This made her loose a lot of weight but still held on strong. On six different occasions the lioness adopted an Oryx calf one after the other despite being frustrated by the male lions and disposition by the rangers. Namugaki is still out there in the wild while the 6th adoptee was rescued by the Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers and can now be seen mature at the Nairobi orphanage.

4. Mzee (Old man) the Tortoise & Owen the Hippo

Haller Park is the former world reclaimed Bamburi Nature Trail at the coast. Reclaimed from cement Quarries of Bamburi Cement Factory the park has been fully rehabilitated with Casuarina trees and stocked as a zoo with giraffes, hippo gazelles Oryx, Eland, fish, snakes, etc.

A very recent and ongoing development at Haller Park has been the extra ordinary friendship between 100yr plus tortoise and a young 2 year old hippo. While Mzee the Tortoise has seen it all unfold at Bamburi, Owen the baby hippo was orphaned after separation from the mother during the tsunami. Now, the story is said that Owen started to spend time with Mzee upon arrival at the Park. This bond has now developed such that the two, feed, sleep and walk together. They are inseparable and Owen is especially aggressive to any intruders.

Other stories always emerge of unique unions between different wildlife species in Kenya including one between a lone buffalo and a murderous black Rhino in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. It all goes to show how free ranging animals take their entitled liberties.

Wildlife viewing in the Mara is done in 8 seater Mini vans and land cruiser trucks. The Mara is so beaming with wildlife that you can almost touch an elephant feeding one meter off the road (Don’t try this at park). And that is right from the gate. Balloon tours are the most satisfying way to view the gazillions of wildlife and especially the big five. Balloon tours are booked on demand from Nairobi.

5. Tour Kenya: Beach Camping Safari Tour

Nothing beats a coastal holiday safari package like ones experience in Mombassa Kenya camp Kenya and beach tour. This is especially good for visitors in need of lazing around in the tropical coast sure for a tan and swim. Other water sports available along the beaches include (1) Water/wind skiing, (2) Surfing, (3) Deep sea fishing, (4) Scuba diving, (5) Swimming with dolphins, (6) Jet skiing, (7) Coral garden snorkeling, (8) Glass-bottomed boat rides into marine parks,(9) sport fishing (10) kayaking, (11) Hobie skiffs, jet skiing and dhow boating etc

The accommodation facilities along Mombasa beaches range from 4-5 star deluxe with top of the range international service standards. You can make your choice between Mombasa beach cottages, lodges, hotel and eco-camps.

6. Kenya Sport Tours and safaris

Kenya is globally recognized for its world class, record breaking athletes. Our success in International athletic gains is attributed to high attitude training. World standard high altitude camps have now been started and cater for athletes looking to improve performance.

In addition, there is now a national calendar of Marathons events that athletes can test their performance i.e. Nairobi Marathon, Lewa Marathon among others. Lewa Marathon is especially unique as it takes place in the middle of a game community reserve.

The runners compete in the middle of Lions, Buffalo, Zebra, giraffe etc. It is a world famous event that attracts international participation. Other sparking activities in a National park, popular with visitors, include Deep Sea sport fishing and the Coastal annual Regatta

Damages to Your Wallet

Lodge based Camp Kenya average between USD 250 to USD 400 depending on the luxury sought.

Camping on the other hand enables you to sample the real Kenya Camp Kenya wilderness tour and freshness of nature. Camping incentive safaris depend on the group number and the larger the number, the lower the cost.

An average of 4 travelers pays between USD 100-120 per day per person for any number of days package. Larger groups can get rates of USD 80-95 per day per person through incentive camping safaris. The Deal doesn’t get any better! Enjoy!

This is a simple but complete guide to low cost flights and airlines.

General information on low cost airlines

Low cost airlines and their fares deeply changed the flight sector. A low cost (or no frills, or low fares) is an airline company that offers flights at very competitive prices by not offering or by selling most of passenger services (like on-board meals, seats bookings, etc.). Low cost flights were born in USA in 1971 with Southwest Airlines, and started spreading in Europe at the beginning of the ’90s with Ireland’s Ryanair.

Statistics and history in brief

To point out the strong growth of low cost flights we will show a few stats: in 1994 about 3 million passengers flew low cost, most of them with Ryanair, and in 1995 they reached 17,5 million.

In 1995 British Airways founded their low cost division named Go, operating from London Stanstead airport in 1998. The same year Go started operating form London Luton as well. In the year 2000, Go was sold to EasyJet.com with an operational loss of over 21 million Pounds. In 2000 KLM also entered the low cost world with Buzz, which was bought over by Ryanair in 2003 with very high losses. Currently EasyJet.com and Ryanair are among the most successful European low cost airlines, and operate over several hundred routes.
Today’s market situation sees a strong and constant growth of the low cost flights sector, new routes being opened every day by all main airlines, In the future a strong growth of low cost companies it is foreseen also in the long range flights segments.

Why low cost flights are such

Low cost airlines are very flexible and efficient organizations with a cost structure that is very different from the one of traditional airlines. Cutting any costs allows them to offer very competitive prices.
Costs are optimized mainly in the following areas:
- Tickets sales are direct, Internet being the main channel. By shortening the intermediation chain, costs can be deeply reduced.
- Smaller and cheaper airports are used, that are also less jammed by traffic.
- On-board services and crews. No meals are served. Fewer crew members are used, and airplanes need less cleaning.
- Full usage of aircraft capacity. Airplanes always fly full charge and fly more often to amortize costs. They have faster load/download times (25/35 minutes vs. 2 hours of traditional companies).
- Newer and all equal aircraft. Low cost companies fleets are made all of the same make of planes, all new ones and easy to service, in order to have them all at maximum efficiency.

Characteristics of low cost companies

To operate low cost flights, airlines must have specific characteristics to allow them to keep prices as low as possible. The basic ones are:

- A single passenger class, with free choice of the seating place.
- A single airplane make (in order to optimize service costs), such as Airbus A320s or Boeing 737s (for instance: Ryanair uses Boeing 737 series, EasyJet favors both Boeing 737s and Airbus A319s).
- Airplanes have more seats (for instance, Lufthansa’s Boeing 737s carry 132 passengers, EasyJet’s ones carry 148).
- Lower weight allowance for both hand carried and stored luggage.
- No free meals or beverages are served on board, but they are available to buy.
- Crew members fulfill multiple tasks (mainly stewardesses and stewards).
- Intensive use of airfleets. For instance, EasyJet flies an average of 10.7 hours a day, while British Airways flies 7.1 hours. Airport stops are shorter (with a faster turnover, usually 25 minutes between flights), and flights are shorter too.
- Connections are made using convenient secondary airfields, often far away from town centers, without slot restrictions, little air traffic and lower airstrip fares.
- Straight peer-to-peer connections without luggage transfers to other coincident flights (separate check-in and check-out), no coordinate flight plans with other airlines.
- Expenditure savings trough direct ticket sales, especially trough the Internet and outsourced call centers, automated check-ins and, occasionally service fees.
- Certain offers (as low as 0.99€) are only valid for in-advance bookings or are limited offers, for a relatively low number of seats.
- Lean management (savings on staff). For instance, Germanwings in Cologne employs no more than 50 people.

It isn’t easy to be low cost: flops

There were new low cost companies that flew only a few months, or even only a few days, like Ireland’s JetGreen Airways, that stopped all activities in May 2004 after only one week without paying back about 40.000 already sold tickets.

- V Bird flew from October 23, 2003 to October 8, 2004 from Düsseldorf.
- VolareWeb, low cost daughter of Italy’s Volare went bankrupt on November 23, 2004. On October 30, 2004 they stopped at once their flights between Germany and Italy. In June 2005 they started to fly again, mainly to domestic destinations and a few European ones.
Several more or less known flops were: Minerva, Gandalf, Azzurra, Air Sicilia, ItalAir, Air Libertè.

When to book

It is usually better to book your flight in large advance, at least 15 days before leaving. Better offers are for departures from Mondays to Thursdays: Better to avoid leaving on week ends. Always buy return tickets and be ready to take off at unusual times (early mornings or late evenings).

Canceling or modifying bookings

Before booking read thoroughly the company’s regulations about cancelling or modifying bookings! Usually tickets not used on the booked flight are not payed back as recession rights for long distance travel do not apply to this kind of sales. About changing departure dates, every company have different regulations, which you better always check on the company’s site. Usually changing dates is not convenient. It is better to loose your old ticket and buy a new one.

How to pay

To shorten intermediation chains, thus offering competitive prices, low cost airlines use favor Internet and call canters (these may apply a small overcharge). Therefore be ready to pay via credit card (payments are secure, to verify be sure that Internet addresses change form http: to https:).

Confirmation and check in

If you book on line, you will receive a confirmation mail at the e-mail address you specified. For telephone bookings at a call center, you will receive confirmation via fax, e-mail or, eventually by regular mail. In the last case, certain companies ask for a small overcharge if sending via messenger mail. If you are e-booking, that means if you buy your ticker on line, you receive confirmation via e-mail. It is enough to print it out and to show it at the booking counter at the airport.

Secure on line payments

On line payments are preferred by low cost airlines. To guarantee discretion in data transfer on the web, credit cards use the most advanced SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. When paying, if your browser uses SSL you just select Protected Mode and your data will be protected. If the browser has limitations, you can use Unprotected Mode. We recommend to get hold of the latest version to be able to carry out without problems all transactions.

Watch out for taxes and extras

Unfortunately, in offers of may low cost airlines there is a not yet regulated very bad habit of give only a partial price, not including overcharges and extras. So don’t be fooled by offers at 0.01 cents, always calculate global prices including taxes, overcharges and fuel costs. Sometimes there are huge differences in price.

Get organized for transportation

Low cost companies usually fly from secondary airfields that can be very far from final destinations (there are almost 70 miles from Stanstead to London), so make sure you know your way out (costs, timings and transportation time) and get organized to reach your destination.

Your luggage

Luggage transport is another point to pay attention to when flying low cost to avoid spending more on extra allowances than on tickets. Extra payload is usually very expensive and companies are very strict about it. So pay extreme attention to luggage overweight regulations and “weigh well” your suitcases.

The Canary Islands are always one of the most popular destinations. Tenerife is the biggest island of the Canaries. Near the south western tip of Tenerife is one of the islands main coastal attractions, the resort of Playa de las Americas. Full of modern restaurants, bars and hotels, it is lively and fun, its large white sandy beach attracting people from all over the island. Next door is the more sophisticated resort of Los Christianos. Just around the coastline is the beautiful beach of El Medano, famed for its windsurfing.

It is an ideal all year round destination and for those seeking some winter sunshine. There is plenty to do or you can simply chill out on the beach. Explore the beauty of the landscape and tranquil villages that are just a bus ride away. A lovely place, the mountain covered in snow is a sight to behold.

Originally a small fishing village, Los Christianos is now an established resort boasting a wide sandy beach and a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. With the centre of the resort closed to traffic, visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town, stopping for a refreshing drink at one of the many cafes.

The prices of the drinks at the main bars and the pool bars are a bit steep. The Shires Bar near the local supermarket and the Merry Monk Bar is very nice if you can get away from the children for the odd hour or so, they have fabulous cabaret acts on most nights.

Best Irish bar was the Irish Times mainly because the resident duo are great singers.

Best local supermarket is on top of a hill.

The taxis are cheap in the resort.

The touts are everywhere therefore dont take a trip with any of the numerous companies who have there leaflets lying around no matter how cheap they seem unless you want to sit through there sales pitch.

A visit to Loro park and Mount Teide are a cert and on the drive back from Mount Teide head for Los Gigantestheres some lovely restaurants there.

The islands sub tropical climate, tempered by the cool Trade Winds and warm Gulf Stream has earned it the title of The Island of Eternal Spring. It has warm, crystal clear waters, which at times reach twenty five degrees, the islands beaches and sea provide a year round playground for international visitors.
